INCAFeature

INCAFeature provides methods for feature detection and classification in electron microscope images by morphology, chemistry and position.

INCAGSR provides automated detection and analysis of Gun Shot Residue based on the INCAFeature software.  The principle capabilities of INCAFeature include:

Feature detection

Features are detected when their intensity lies between two threshold settings.  Multiple threshold settings can be applied together with grey and binary image processing to improve the detection efficiency and speed.  Compensation for drift in the electron microscope beam current can be made by periodically returning to a calibration standard.

Review classes

INCAFeature provides a large number of methods for reviewing the classes into which features have been classified in a feature detection run. Press the buttons below to see examples of the methods available:

Review data

The details of the feature detection run can be shown in a spreadsheet and exported if required

Review features

Detected features can be reviewed here.  The screen shows the location of the particle, the X-ray spectrum, an image of the particle, the morphological measurements and the quantitative analysis. The stage can be driven to the feature position in the microscope and data reacquired.
